So, lets talk about the dental fillings and types. There are various types of dental fillings in India like amalgam(silver filling), Gold filling, GIC, composite and many more. Nowdays, amalgam and the gold fillings are out of fashion as this is the filling which requires much space to fill due to which tooth material is lost and also due to the strength of the amalgam, there are chances of tooth fracture as well. The benefits of Gic is that it does not require much space to get filled also, the color is somewhat the same as tooth and it has enough strength and it provides remineralization effect to the dentin and enamel as well. It is high strength material but it requires high skill to get it filled and also this helps in smile makeover without even losing the tooth material. last two fillings are the best and it is decided by the dentist as per the budget of patient and the requirement.
